Hyperhidrosis

What is hyperhidrosis?

Sweating is a normal reaction from the body as a method of cooling down when you are hot or exercising. However, excessive sweating when your body does not need to cool itself, is known as hyperhidrosis.

It is a common, long-term condition that can often occur for no obvious reason, or be linked to another condition or medication side-effect. It can effect many areas of the body, particularly the armpits, chest, groin, hands, feet and face.

Can hyperhidrosis be cured or treated?

Although there is no cure for hyperhidrosis, it is possible to manage the symptoms through some simple changes such as wearing loose-fitting clothing (black or white fabrics can minimise the appearance of sweating), wearing socks to absorb moisture, avoiding alcohol and spicy foods.

However, if hyperhidrosis is having a negative effect on your self-confidence, Dew Aesthetics can offer treatment to manage the condition.
